US high court sets aside eBay patent case ruling (Reuters)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The set aside onMonday a ruling that an injunction must be imposed on onlineauctioneer eBay Inc. in its patent battle with MercExchange, adeveloper of e-commerce technology.

The justices unanimously set aside the decision by a U.S.appeals court in finding that a permanent injunction barringuse of a technology must generally be issued once infringementof a valid patent has been determined.
